The video display area is where the main table is displayed, and this will disappear when the player opens the options menu. The game panel can be found at the bottom of the table and this shows how much credit the player has in their account and also how much they have bet and won.

The information panel is also known as the keypad area and this can be found to the right and left of the video display area, and dependent on how far into the game the player is they can use the deal, hit, stand, split, double, accept even money, or buy insurance. The player starts by placing their bet and then they press the deal button and the game begins.

The player is dealt two cards which are face down and the dealer also has two cards however one of which is face up. From here the player has a number of choices they can make to try and get their cards to add up to 21. If the player wishes to have an additional card, they use the hit button, if they want to double their bet, they use the x2 button the cancel button is used to cancel the last bet and the reset button cancels all of the bets that are placed.

If the player is happy with their hand and doesn’t want to do anything further, they choose the stand button. The player chooses to stand automatically if their hand totals 21, if the players hand exceeds 21, they go bust meaning their hand loses. If the player and dealer have the same value hand it is a tie and the bet s returned to the player.

Playson is amongst the leading software developers and as so has a number of versions of Blackjack to offer, however in this review I intend to analyse their standard game of Blackjack. In doing so I can confirm that this game is the classic European version which has been created to cater for online players. In this particular version of Blackjack players will be treated to some excellent graphics, some features/options and some delightfully smooth game play.

As most people know even those who do not play online games will expect the main aim of this game of Blackjack is for the player to beat the hand of the dealer. In this game players can have up to five hands at the same time and they also have the option to set a varying bet range across them all. Whilst the actual bet range depends on the casino that is hosting the game, usually this is a game that appeals to all from complete novices to experienced high rollers.

How the game works: features

According to the Blackjack game rules the aim is for players to land a hand that is higher than the dealer’s however their hand must add up to 21 or lower. Player’s begin by choosing the amount that they want to bet, in this version of the game the minimum is 1 and the maximum 50. Players can choose to play anything from one to five hands at once and when the player is ready, they press deal and the game begins.

There are a number of options open to players when the game is in play, and these are as follows. When the player wants to place their bet, they click on the chip that shows the value they have chosen to bet and place this on the table. Should the player wish they have the option to double their initial bet at any time during hand by activating the x2 button, and the Reset button is used to cancel all of the bets the player has placed. The game begins when the dealer gives the player two cards which are laid face down on the table. The dealer then deals their own cards however one is face down and the other is face up. Once the player has looked at their cards, they can proceed with any of the following options. If they choose the hit button, they will be dealt an additional card, if they choose the stand button, they are signalling that they do not want any further cards.

There is the option for the player to use the Even money button which pays 1:1 and this would be used if the player has 21 and the dealer’s card showing is an Ace, if the player does not activate the even money and the dealer gets an Ace the player loses their money. If the player decides that they do not want to continue with the hand they have the option to fold, by holding the player will recover half of the amount bet. The player can choose the insurance option in case the dealer is showing an Ace and the player does not have 21, the insurance costs the player one half of the bet and pays out at 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack.

Conclusion

Blackjack has a standard game play meaning once you have played and know the few rules you will know for life how it works. There are a number of choices available to players which we will look at shortly and players should know that there are no side bets, jackpots, bonus rounds or other features with this game.

Probably the most famous and popular table game worldwide is Blackjack, so it is not surprising that the developers at Playson have launched their own variation that is aptly named Blackjack Low. Blackjack was first referred to by a literary giant from Spain, and the object of the game still remains the same. Thanks to Playson players can now enjoy a wonderful animated variation of classic card game.

Blackjack Low is a table game and is presented with expert aesthetics and design and offers players the standard bet options that players would expect. The game is played with 6 decks, each containing 52 cards which are shuffled at the start of each round. There is the potential for players to play up to five hands during each game, all they have to do is to bet on all of the five boxes if playing the desktop version or three boxes if playing using the mobile version. The aim of the game is for the player to beat the dealer.

The final section is the keypad area which can be found on the right and left hand side of the video display area.

How to play

The objective of the game is for players to get a better hand than the dealer without exceeding the number 21, and dependent on the stage in the game players can be dealt another card (hit), to stick with the cards they have (stand), if they have two of the same cards they can split these to make two hands from the initial one.

Double which will double the means that the player can double their bet at this stage in the game, accept even money meaning that if they land the same cards as the dealer they are just paid out their initial stake and finally buy insurance which players would use if the first card the dealer has is an ace.

Conclusion

Blackjack is one of my most favoured games therefore I could be seen as being a little biased, however Blackjack Low from Playson is one of the most beautiful version of the game I have ever played. Blackjack is a classic game that will always amass a good following, but in terms of design this is certainly one to take a look at.
