Theme and Design

This slot has been created using cartoon style graphics with plenty of shine. The background to the game screen contains a coil of honeycomb that is in a mystical room that could in fact be a laboratory. When it comes to the symbols there are 10 regular symbols, 8 low paying and 2 premiums, the low payers include the usual playing card symbols Jack through to Ace which are all crafted from honey and the other four are multi-coloured diamonds. The high paying symbols include the wild honey symbol which is the most rewarded and a mushroom symbol.

Game Play

The slot plays out on a 3-4-5-4-3 hexagonal grid, with all of the lines paying both ways, although the developers have not shared any information about the return to player, but it would be fair to assume from the other games that this will come in at around 97%.

Bonus & Features

There are a couple of bonus features on offer in Mystic Hive with the first being the Bonus spins which are awarded when the honey meter is completely full and for this you are rewarded with five bonus spins. Once the bonus round is underway all the bees that are around the honeycomb fly off and return when the feature is over to occupy the places that they left.
Next is the Spreading Wilds which is only available in the Bonus Spins and the wilds then spread from their positions opposite the honeycomb cells with each spin and spread until they run out of space or there are no more spins to play, at the end of the bonus the wilds disappear.

I found Mystic Hive to be an engaging slot that has a great design and unique features. It is true to say that I landed several dead spins, but I did land smaller wins throughout my test play.
