This is the latest in a long line of North American wildlife inspired slots. The slot designers that have produced this one are Booming Games. However, rather than focussing on the typical apex animals in the North American wilderness, such as the grizzly bear, mountain lion or grey wolf, this game’s principal character is the large but not overly romanticised Moose.

Mechanically, this game is a five-reel, 30 pay line slot with a simple yet gratifying paytable. In addition, there are a few fun features and a tempting top payout of 8,000x the stake. Annoyingly the RTP has not been released for this game.

The features in Money Moose begin with the wild icon (the lakeside vista), which can replace other regular symbols to help score more frequent wins. The theme for this game, which is becoming one of the mainstays of modern slot designers, is the North American wilderness. Specifically, this slot seems to have taken aesthetic inspiration from heavily forested states close to the border with Canada. This can be seen in the alpine surroundings for the slot and the various beasts on the board, which typically reside in colder alpine climates such as wild boar, wolves and bears. The graphic style isn’t the best quality we have ever seen when considering these types of slots, which makes the game feel a little low budget in appearance.

As mentioned, the background is an alpine setting full of various evergreens, including pines of various types. Behind this densely forested environment is a surrounding of mountains with snow-capped peaks. Although not the best quality, this background provides a calming environment conducive to an easy-going atmosphere. Few details can really be made out, in all honesty, when it comes to the background, as the board is so large.

Speaking of the board, it is a wooden framed construction inspired by the natural environment surrounding it.

The symbols for this game are split into low-paying, high paying and special symbols. The low-value symbols are the card royals’ values – 10, J, Q, K and A. The maximum that a player can win is 2x their stake with any of these low-value symbols. The more lucrative icons, on the other hand, are the various animals. First, there is the wild board which is then followed by the wolf, bear and Moose.

The Moose is the most valuable of these paying out at 133.33x the stake for the top combination. This game is a little different with its high-value symbols, also having a golden set that is worth double the original icons. The specials finally comprise the collector, wild, coin and scatter symbols, each of which has a role to play when it comes to the feature available in this game.

Game Play

Money Moose is played on a 5-reel, 4-row machine with 30 fixed pay lines. To win combinations, players must land three or more matching symbols on pay lines moving from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

Conclusion

Although it feels a little samey, this game actually has a decent set-up and some features that are worth sticking around for. The theme is a little lazy yet no more lazy than other designers who have jumped on this North American wilderness bandwagon. RTP and top pay-outs look promising too.
