Overview of Wombaroo slot
Instead of adding yet another Halloween or Christmas title to the gaming market, Booming Games offers Wombaroo which is a slot that has been crafted around the names of the kangaroo and wombat, takes players to the centre of Australia where they will come across Regan the kangaroo and Willy the wombat with the latest slot which includes an exciting bonus game. This is a great alternative to a seasonal slot and is bound to become a favourite amongst players.
Theme & Design
The slot is set against the beautiful backdrop featuring Ayers Rock, and there are superb aesthetics with regards to the game’s appearance. Uluru or Ayers Rock as it is more commonly referred to is a huge rock formation that is located in the centre of Australia and is one of the most famous sites of the continent, and even today remains sacred to native tribes. The 5x3 grid complete with 20 pay lines dominate the view, with a large rock formation in the backdrop and the screen surrounded by windswept Savannah planes. This is a very pretty slot, and the two animals sit either side of the reels and will entertain players with all types of action when the bonus features become activated. There is a happy soundtrack that plays whilst the reels spin and it gives off great vibes which is sure to keep you happy and want to continue to play.
Game Play & Symbols
With regards to the statistics this slot is not that well balanced as it is powered using a highly volatile math model, with the return to player being below the average standing at just 95.42%. This coupled with a hit rate of just under 22% you will find it quite challenging to land wins and therefore should be aware that you need to be patient when playing this slot. When it comes to setting your bet, this starts from $0.20 - $40 per spin and the most you can expect to win is 4,000x your bet.
When it comes to winning combinations, you need to land three of the same symbols on one of your pay lines. You can expect to come across the usual playing card symbols 10 through to Ace as usual these make up the lower pay outs. These are then followed by animal symbols which in ascending order are emu's, koala's, and the central characters Regan and Willy. The low paying symbols will award you with 3.5x to 7.5x of your bet for landing 5 in a combination whereas the premium symbols will reward you with 20x to 25 x your stake. The wild symbol will help you to form winning combinations as it can substitute for any of the other regular symbols to create winning combinations, and if you land 5 Wilds in a combination you will be rewarded with 125x your bet.
Although Wombaroo is rather light on features in the main game it does offer three exciting and lucrative bonus games. It is here that you can benefit from wombat wins, kangaroo free spins, and the games super feature. Regan and Willie can land on your reels with an Australian map in the background and this is the game scatter and will activate the unique bonus games. The scatters can only land on your 1st, 3rd, and 5th reels and landing three simultaneously on a single spin will activate the feature. By landing three kangaroo scatters you will be rewarded with eight free spins.
Whilst playing the free round, all the Wilds become sticky and remain in place for the entire duration of the feature, however unfortunately you cannot re trigger the feature.
If you land 3 wombats anywhere in view during the base game, you will be taken to the Hold and Spin feature. In this feature all activating scatters transform into coins and randomly reveal values, these then lock in place for the duration of the bonus. You will be rewarded with three free spins to begin and whenever you land a new coin the number of free spins will re-set back to three. As well as this all the coins have a random multiplier value of 1x, 5x, 10x, 50x, or 100x attached to them. Once you fill the grid entirely or run out of free spins the values are all calculated, and you are paid out.
It is not only the three scatter combinations that can provide you with lucrative additions in this slot, the Super feature collector is a meter that is located above the reels and fills with one unit whenever you land two wombat or kangaroo scatters in a single spin in the base game. When the meter is entirely full, (it has a capacity of 30 units) the Super feature becomes active. You will be awarded with eight free spins in the same way as you are in the kangaroo free spins, and all wilds will be sticky and lock in place until you come to the end of the bonus game. When there are no more spins left, all of the wilds transform into gold coins and then reveal a cash prize of either 5x, 10x, 50x, or 100x your bet and this is awarded as an extra prize.
I really enjoyed playing Wombaroo as it brings a lot of fun coupled with an exciting feature set and hugely amazing main characters. For me, Booming Games could have balanced the slot out a little better as the game has a great variety of things to do, there is nothing in the base game to get really excited about and some may find that it is not that entertaining. However, take it from me the wait for something to happen is well worth being patient for, as both the Hold and Spin feature and the free spins are both capable of providing you with some super pay outs. The Super feature provides yet another layer of entertainment as this comes with double the potential.
I would rate this lot as a solid 8.5/10 and enjoyed playing it immensely, I would have no hesitation in recommending the slot to all types of players and it is a real contrast from the Halloween and Christmas slots that a currently being released.
