100 Zombies and counting
With Halloween drawing nearer, more and more developers are choosing to launch their own contributions to the horror category of slot machines. Endorphina is not exception and is doing well this year with their new slots. One of these new horror Halloween slots is 100 Zombies, a brand-new zombie themed slot, offering the player impressive graphics and several features which may be common but work well with this large game grid.
The grid, as mentioned above, consists of 5 reels and 4 row. This may not seem impressive, but it offers the player a total of 100 active lines. It is not going to pay a huge amount, but it can give the player a total of 1,000 times the stake in a single spin – this equates to $1,000,000. With stacked wilds, free spins and scatters, the list of features is short and typical for the slots being produced today.
Betting range, RTP and volatility
There is a lot of movability with the betting range for this slot. The line bet is from 1 coin to 10 coins, which equates to $1 to $10. If all 100 lines are being used, then the wager will be from $1 to $1,000. However, the player is given the option to reduce the number of lines that they are betting over. Starting as low as 20, you can choose between 20, 30, 50 or 100 lines, giving the lowest bet of $0.20.
As for the pay outs involved, the best combination is one of just wilds, which will give the player 10 times the stake for five on a line. As these can be stacked, this gives the change for a full screen. In this instance, you would be paid 1,000 times the stake.
The Return to Player for 100 Zombies is set at 96%, which is average for any slot nowadays. There is no surprises, but also no disappointments with this.
Design and symbols
The design is one of our favourite things about the slot. It has a large game area, and this shows a city overrun with zombies, a visible green tinge in the air, adding to the feel of toxicity and death. The reels themselves are encased in a metallic border.
When we look at the symbols, Endorphina have continued with the impressive design of the slot. The lower paying symbols are the four basic royals: A, K, Q, and J. These are depicted in different colours across the reels. The regular symbols is where the fun of design has really come to play, with three survivors and two zombies. The survivors include a cowboy swinging a shotgun, a girl holstering pistols and a man with a baseball bat. The zombies show a zombie guy, and a zombie nurse. The ‘special’ symbols for the slot are the bio-hazard sign which acts as the scatter, and the wild logos which act as the wild.
The main features of this slot are more on the simple side, so we cannot imagine many of you will be surprised by any of them. This may be a disadvantage to some, namely those looking for something new, however this could also work in the slots favour.
To begin the features there is the stacked wild which is depicted with its logo that is written on a gold door in blood. This can be used to substitute the regular symbols to create new combinations. But this does not do anything for the scatter, get lucky and land a combination of wilds and you can win 10x your stake per line if you have the most valuable symbol.
There is a scatter symbol in the game, and this is represented with a bio-hazard warning sign and a green logo. The scatter will only land on your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, reels and can reward you with 10 free spins when they land together. In the free spins feature you can land stacked wilds on your middle reels and the chance to reactivate the feature if you land another set of new scatters on your three middle reels.
In the feature’s things are basic with regards to the theme and you will come across the grumpy elderly man, a male with no fear and a girl rebel who will assist you in your battle to keep the zombies at bay. Your protection comes in the shape of the metal door wild as this can save you from the zombies and when it lands on your reels it will substitute for all symbols apart from the scatter to create winning combinations.
When you and the biohazard symbol, the alarm will sound and all I will say is your best be ready for what is going to come next! Land three and you will activate the free spins with 10 spins plus stacked wilds on your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th reels. If the alarm is feeling generous and gives you another three scatters the whole think starts from the beginning again. In true Endorphina style there is a gamble feature that you can take advantage of if you so wish. You are shown one card and there are four more laid face down, your job is to choose one of the four and hope yours is higher than the dealers. If you choose the same as the dealer it is a draw, higher and the feature starts again or lower and you go straight back to the base game. You can also choose to collect your winnings after you have chosen the higher card if you wish.
100 Zombies from Endorphina is a solid game that will provide you with some good wins and common features. The graphics have certainly been worked on as they are far better than some we have seen in the past. I would sum this slot up as a great slot for Halloween and those who are fans of this style of celebration.
