Overview of GameArt’s new slot

GameArt has brought a brand-new slot to the industry, like many before, and their new slot is called Diego El Pibe De Oro. In celebration of one of the greatest football players in the history of the sport, Argentina’s Diego Maradona recently passed not long ago, and GameArt have chosen to honour him in their new slot. They designed the game to have average rewards but impressive graphics, with even Diego portraying one of the symbols. Officially licensed through Applovesoft, the slot is likely to resonate with Diego’s millions of fans worldwide.

The Diego El Pibe De Oro slot offers the player 15 lines across 5 reels and 3 rows. These can be used by the player to trigger the free spin features or to aid wilds and scatters to win even more prizes. Not to mention, low value symbols can be turned into extra wilds. With the potential of winning up to 1,000 times the stake in a single spin! The base game might have only one example of a symbol which can achieve massive heights, but with all the additional wilds, there is plenty of prizes for the player to enjoy.

Symbols and betting for Diego El Pibe De Oro

The design is rather sombre looking, with a mixture of black and gold; while it does look sombre, there is an air of elegance to it, serving in memory of Diego Maradona perfectly. The memory of Diego Maradona serves as the inspiration for the main symbol. He is the wild and scatter. Other symbols include the premiums, which are based on pieces of flashy jewellery; these include the gold watch, the gold cross, silver studs and the gold ring. These are glitzed to the maximum, with stunning diamonds studded on every square space of the jewellery.

The lower paying symbols include the royals: A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9. There is a sassy South American salsa tune playing eloquently in the background giving you a true Argentinian vibe. To the left of the button ‘Spin’ at the base of the reels, you will find two icons that are used to alter the bet. One will show you the total bet, while the other will allow you to choose the coin value that you are betting with. Only the coin value can be altered, however this also alters the total bet. The coins are worth $0.01 to $1, which means the wager bet is $0.15 to $15 per spin. While this isn’t massive, the player can win up to 66.66x the stake in a single spin, giving you $1,000. The total for the player is $15,000 and this is reasonably impressive for this type of slot.

Currently there is not a return to player available, but we reckon this slot will sit around the 95.5% to 96% mark. Below average or hitting bang on. The volatility is extremely high. However, there is quite a lot of problems with this. An extremely high volatility would lend to a player who is willing to take risks, and with a maximum bet of $15, there is not exactly a huge risk involved!

Features

Diego’s image is the main feature of the slot and is represented in a suit. The player can use it as both the scatter and the wild. It therefore has the ability to substitute for other symbols, allowing for all types of additional combinations which bring impressive prizes to the player! Since this also acts as the scatter, having three land on the reels at the same time will give you access to the free spins feature. This will award the player a total of 8, 10 or 12 rounds depending on whether the player lands 3, 4 or 5 scatters, respectively. Any new Diego symbols which land after the free spins have begun will be collected and once you have gathered 5, this will upgrade the lowest royal to an additional wild and award 3 extra spins. Keep collecting these and you may be able to upgrade all 6 of the Royals to wild versions; these will pay the top prize for you!

Aside from the free spins feature, there is no other features per say. However this does not take away from the rest of the slot. With a few features for the player to enjoy, the graphics are left to pick up the brunt of the work with persuading the player to spin. With impressive looks, this is no hard feat.

Conclusion

This slot is not a bad online slot, and based off the features it has to offer, there is a couple of options which seem more unique than others we have seen on the reels recently. Whether you were a fan of Diego Maradona, hated Argentina’s team with a passion, or could not care less either way, the slot still has something to give every player.

The winnings of $15,000 is not bad but could definitely be improved. We would say check you’re your casino to make sure that they offer the maximum, but we would be sorely disappointed with casinos if they were not offering the maximum. The potential winnings are so minor in comparisons to some slots which offer millions to be won. With such prestige attached to his name, we would have liked to have seen higher win potentials than the ones presented to us.
