Introducing Stacks of Jacks slot by Gamomat
Released in March 2020, Stacks of Jacks is the latest release from the gaming developers at Gamomat. Stacks of Jacks is a retro styled slot and the developers have done a good job of putting a fun twist on a classic theme. Complete with iconic fruit symbols mixed with the classic such as bars and bells as well as a joker wild that takes this fruit slot to another level. The base game is simple and easy to pick up and as the wild joker can appear you can boost your winning potential via the substituting properties to create winning combinations.
This slot plays out over a familiar setup of 5-reels, 3-row and 10 pay line and offers low volatility play. The slot comes complete with stacked wild jokers and this slot is aimed at those who prefer a long gaming session as persistence and good bankroll will eventually prove fruitful, and there are two gamble features to boost your wins even further. If you feel as though you’re ready read on to see how Stacks of Jacks plays.
Graphics and Sound
This is a vibrant and colourful slot that provides bold, bright symbols and vivid graphics. The background is a deep bottle green which is perfectly complemented by the gold frames that contain the reels. The backdrop also contains a diamond pattern that goes perfectly with the green and is very easy on the eye and the title of the slot is also elegantly designed with a gold font.
Unsurprisingly the wild in Stacks of Jacks is the joker and it can substitute for all the other symbols to create winning combinations. Better still the wild can also appear stacked on all your reels. You will come across several classic symbols which you will probably be familiar and include single and double bars, gold bells, red 7s, grapes, cherries, oranges, lemons, watermelon and plums.
The highest paying symbol in this slot is the Jack and he will reward you with 5x, 50x, or 200x your bet for landing three or more on any pay line. The next highest payers are the red 7s and double bar and these will reward you with winnings that range from 2.5 x up to 50x your stake. The single bar and bell follow these with pay outs that are worth up to 25x your bet, the grapes and watermelon will reward you with up to 20x your stake. The other symbols the plums, oranges, lemons, and cherries will reward you with 10x your bet.
Stacks of Jacks from Gamomat provides players with two separate and different gamble features, these being the card and the ladder gamble. When you land any winning combination, you can gamble your winnings using either gamble feature. If you choose the card gamble you must predict the colour of the playing card which is face down, make a correct guess and you double your winnings, you can then either gamble again or return to the base game. If you guess incorrectly you lose your winnings and are returned straight back to the base game.
If you choose the ladder gamble this is slightly different as you will be presented with a ladder that has various prizes on offer and range from zero to a higher value than your current winnings. If you are lucky and land on one of the higher rungs of the ladder your prize will be multiplied and if not, you will be rewarded with a lower prize and worst case nothing at all!
Free Spins and Bonuses
Whilst Stacks of Jacks has no free spins or bonus features the game is anything but short of win opportunities and because of this I found that I did not miss these features.
To Pay or Not to Pay
Stacks of Jacks can be played in a demo mode which I think is a vital offering that every slot should offer. Being able to play the game and learning exactly how the slot works is important as you can then play using your own money and stand a good chance of landing some great wins.
Stacks of Jacks is not the type of slot where you would expect to find unique features and you won’t, it is however a slot that has a classic influence with regards to both the design and layout. When compared to other slots that could fall into this category of games it does have one feature that would be unexpected but apart from this it is a simple and straightforward game. It really depends what you are looking for and this can be an advantage or disadvantage.
The game uses a simple set up and although it may not be as generous as competitor slots it is far from mean. You can win up to 2,000x your stake and to do so you will need to land stacked wilds which I did within the first 15 minutes of play, plus these are the only symbols that take you to the feature gamble game. I think the most important thing about this title is that it is simple and for some the features and graphics may not be enough. For me the return to player of 96.16% must be a draw.
Stacks of Jacks has been inspired by a retro slot to provide a classic gaming experience and it does this very well. With a vintage feel the slot is made exciting thanks to the two gamble features and stacked wilds that are on offer, this is without the Jack who can reward you with up to 200x your bet.
Whilst I am not usually a fan of such simple slots this has a quirkiness that really appealed. Although my winnings were not that high, I did while away an hour and would definitely return particularly when I just wanted to wind down and get paid to do it!
