Theme and Symbols

The theme for The Last Sundown, as briefly explained, is a post-apocalyptic nightmare. From the looks of the technology on show, including the complex cyborgs, this apocalypse looks to have happened far into the future (what a relief). Instead of creating a subsistence lifestyle and forming a warm community, people are instead engaged in gang warfare. This is apparent from the looks of the weaponry and conflict on the reels. Even the poor dog has been made into a cyborg and weaponised.

The background for this slot shows a bombed-out shanty town baking in some sort of nuclear heat. From the large water tower on the left-hand side of the reels and the generally desert-like feeling you get from this image, whatever happened to the world left it arid and parched. Behind the various rusted-out buildings is a huge sun which takes up a large percentage of the background image. This, you can probably infer, signals the last sundown in the title, giving the whole board and screen a terminal feeling of impending destruction.

The board, like its surroundings, has been made from scrap metal and barbed wire, creating a matching aesthetic to the setting in which it sits.

The symbols for this game are split into low-value, high value and special symbols. The low-value symbols are the various types of weapons you can see on the reels. These include a knife, an axe, a pistol, a grenade and a grenade launcher. The most valuable of these are the grenade and grenade launcher, paying 0.8x the stake for the top combination. The higher value symbols, on the other hand, are the cast of characters that all have names. These begin with the dog, Lauro, Tuco, Devin, and finally Rae, the female character. She is the most valuable, paying 5x the stake for the top combination. The specials are the golden w wilds, and the medical kit scatter.

The Last Sundown is played on a 6-reel dynamic pay ways playing board. This means between 3 and 6 icons can be in each reel. With each reel containing all six symbols, there are 7,776 pay lines available. To win combinations, players must land three or more matching symbols on pay lines moving from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
