Chicago Gangsters is one of the latest free casino slots to be released from the gaming developers at Playson, and unsurprisingly is a homage to the 1930s gangsters who made their millions when the Prohibition laws were brought into force by the US government. It was in this time when famous gangsters such as Al Capone, Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, John Dillinger and George "Baby Face" Nelson and their gangs prayed on the big cities operating large groups that were selling illegal liquor, charging business men for protection and carrying out huge heists. This led to a different society of people to emerge one where they would attend huge parties whilst enjoying the illegal liquor in dark, smoky basement establishments well hidden from the police.

The developers at Playson took a risk trying to play these times out on the reels of this slot, but there is no doubt that it will be a huge success. The slot is played out against a background that depicts the typical 1930s era with cars parked on either side of a dimly lit street with three policeman looking out for the gangsters. The contemporary jazz soundtrack is the perfect accompaniment to the slot as it perfectly conjures up the atmosphere one would expect to find in the dingy clubs where power came from money. The super sharp graphics and well executed aminations add the final touches to this fabulous slot. Players will also see that on top of the display window there are three fixed jackpots, the Mini, Major and Grand. Symbols

The low paying symbols are the usual playing cards Jack through to Ace, and these reward players with x3.5 of their stake for landing five on a pay line. The higher paying symbols in ascending value are the whiskey glass with cigar, 1930s limousine, a barmaid, a policeman with gun, and the wild symbol. The wild can substitute for all the symbols apart from the bonus symbols. Pay outs for landing five of a kind start from x5 and go up to x10 of the bet staked.

The red casino chip is the bonus symbol in the base game of Chicago Gangsters and there are also green and blue variations in the bonus game which award players with one of the two smaller jackpots. Players will also come across the wild which can substitute for all other symbols to create winning combinations, mystery symbols and the bonus games where there is a chance to land any one of the three jackpots that are on offer.

Autoplay and Bonus

There is an auto play function, which is ideal for players that prefer to sit back and watch the reel spins and they can choose from 10 – 999 spins. The slot has a medium variance with an average RTP of just over 95%. Mystery symbols can make an appearance on any spin in the base game and can cover all of the reels with a playing card. When the reels stop, the mystery symbol flips and uncovers one of the more common symbols except for the wild. Landing a complete screen of one paying symbol will see players win from x70 – x200 of their original stake.

Players that land at least six bonus symbols on one spin will activate the bonus game and three re-spins will be awarded with just bonus symbols on the reels. The bonus symbol that originally activated the bonus game will stick on the reels for the whole feature. Any further bonus symbols landed also stick to the reels and they reset the re-spins back to three.
