Pixel Samurai Slots

For players who used to play video games at an arcade or was one of the first to own an 8-bit Atari console Pixel Samurai will be just the ticket as it will bring back the old memories when the most modern tech featured blocks as images that move around the screen complete with an electro soundtrack. The slot cleverly uses retro styled symbols to keep the theme going with six vibrant Samurai characters that pay out when players land enough of the same and there is also a progressive jackpot on offer when there are enough red Master Samurai on the screen.

The gameplay is simple yet enhanced by the cascading reels feature where winning symbols are replaced by new for even more chances to win however players should be mindful that there is no wild, scatter and no free spin rounds on offer. Pixel Samurai is hugely entertaining, fast paced and has the potentially to be really lucrative.

Playtech are amongst the top level of games developers when it comes to slots and have the capability and experience to provide realistic games that are complete with superb 3D graphics and many other unique features and they understand that there are a lot of players that just want to chill out and go back to the basics with an old style slot like this. As Pixel Samurai can be played for free it is worth giving it a spin or maybe players will just want to get stuck in and gather the cash rewards. The symbols include some traditional Japanese characters which look as though they have come straight from the early gaming console. In total there are 25 symbols which are overlaid on a purple background that has a building with a pagoda roof, bonsai trees and lanterns which adorn the Asian garden. Clouds spasmodically float across the sky adding a certain something to the overall theme.

The control buttons and game title are pixelated and blocky and whilst the symbols have more detail than the rest of the game, the theme becomes more late 90s than early 80s. Whilst more conventional slots see new symbols land in view, every time the player clicks the play button all of the symbols drop from the screen with new ones falling into place on the grid. There are some cutesy animations when every character disappears with surprised looks as their arms flay from side to side. The aim of Pixel Samurai slot is for players to land five or more symbols of the sae type adjacent to one another. The blocks can be created vertically or horizontally but they will not land diagonally and the symbols that created the win vanish into a puff of smoke. This leaves empty spaces on the grid with any symbols above falling down to fill in the gaps.

There are also new symbols that sit above the screen and may fall down and for lucky players new blocks of Samurai are then formed. When it comes to the winnings it depends on which Samurai makes the winning block and how many were landed in that block. The character that is reminiscent of Robin Hood is the lowest paying symbol and landing five awards the player with x0.4 of their initial stake and landing 16 or above a respectable x50 of their stake. The blue Sumo wrestler awards up to x100, the nun chuck-wielding man with the straw hat pays x 500x, the ice covered Samurai rewards with x1,000 and the lady Samurai paying out up to 5,000x. The best symbol is the red Samurai master and he pays a prize that is equal to x50 of the players bet when there is a block of just five, and landing any blocks containing eight or more sees the prize rocket to x5,000 and a share of a progressive jackpot.
