Pirate Gold Deluxe

Overview of Pirate Gold Deluxe slot
There are many slots that use the words “Gold” or “Deluxe” but when it comes down to the mechanics it is hard to see what the differences are immediately. After a few spins or a look at the pay table, the new features, graphical upgrade and or bigger wins things become clear. However, all developers do their own thing and Pragmatic Play could be accused of dropping things down a notch from the original Pirate Gold version. There are changes to the Lucky Treasure Bag, the free spins are no longer part of the game play and you will also see that many of the key statistics have also been thrown overboard. If you are ready to walk the plank on this Deluxe version of Pirate Gold read on.
Theme & Design
When it comes to the visuals both slots are on par with one another. The Deluxe Pirate Gold offers a more enticing background as the developers have used warmer and brighter tones against the animated images. On the surface the two slots are similar with the soundtrack full of suspense creating the perfect ambience. The gaming screen is not quite as authentic but does have the characteristics that would be required in a storm. When it comes to the visuals and soundtrack there is little difference between the two slots.
The slot plays out over 5-reels and 40 pay lines and can be played on all devices, perfect if you want to play on the go. To start the game, you need to choose the bet that you are most comfortable playing with, and this starts from a minimum of 20p per spin up to a maximum of £100 per spin. Although this slot is lower roller friendly, the default return to player has also reduced slightly and is now 96.48% and the volatility is rated at 5/5.
As so much of this slot is the same as the original it is to be expected that the symbols are recognisable at least this is the case for the regular symbols, Starting with the lowest there is the bronze, silver, gold doubloons and a hook and with these symbols you need to land at least three to create a win. The other symbols you will come across are the telescopes, maps, ships, parrots, a lady pirate and a male pirate and these will reward you with 10x to 25x your stake and you only need to land two of a kind to create a winning combination. Appearing on your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th reels you will find a treasure chest overflowing with cash, and this is the games wild. The wild has no value on its own but it can substitute for all symbols except for the money symbol to create winning combinations.
I may have spoilt things a little by mentioning that there are no free spins but in its place is the Lucky Treasure Bag feature which has been changed. You must land 8 or more of the gold money symbols to land anywhere on the reels. The money bags have a random value or display the minor or major jackpot. When you land 8 these are locked into position and three re-spins are awarded. During these re-spins you will only land blank spaces, treasure chests, or green, red, and purple bags can land. There is also a modifier added as follows. If you land purple bags they lock into place and take the value from the gold bags that activated the feature. Landing the red bags will see them locked in place and taking the values of all the bags that were in view when the feature took place. The green bag adds a value of 2x, 3x or 5x the total multipliers of the round but the green bags are not sticky. Landing the chest will retrigger the feature again when the current one comes to an end.
The feature comes to an end when either the re-spins are over or all the positions are covered, the bags are then calculated, and any winning multipliers are added to the total. If you have filled all 20 positions, you will be rewarded with the Grand Jackpot which is worth 1,000x your bet.
The new feature is the Buy Money Re-spins feature, which you can activate at a cost of 100x your bet and for this you will have between 8 – 19 money symbols on your next spin.
For me, this slot could be summed up as less is more, but this is certainly not the norm when it comes to a remake, possibly this could be the beginning of a new bag symbol styled slot. Another thought could be that there was a strong following and demand for a buy in feature from slots of the original Pirate Gold slot. If you are a fan of hold and win then this is a slot that must be included in your must-play list. The multipliers in the slot are great even though rather rare.
The developers at Pragmatic Play suggest that you can win 15,000x your bet and whilst this is impressive the first version of this slot offered wins of 32,270x your bet and for this reason we feel the slots should be thought of as a stand alone slot merely with a similar theme. This is a decent slot which the developers have put a lot of effort into creating something different to the original. For me, the slot ticked several boxes, and therefore I would rate it at 6.5/10.
