Snegurochka is an essential part of the Russian New Year’s celebrations and according to legends, she is the daughter of Father Frost and the Snow Queen. Obviously, the theme of the slot is winter and Christmas, and beside the reels a jolly snowman and brightly lit tree create a festive mood. The background is a moody blue and white, with snow falling gently. The frosty feel is all around with the icy covered reels and here is plenty of visuals to keep players enjoying the slot.

Symbols

The story of this slot is set in the snowy mountains, with frosty trees and animated snowflakes falling behind the reels – these are transparent and mimic the idea of ice. Surrounded by ice and snow, there is plenty for the player to enjoy as they spin the reels filled with gorgeous symbols. In the distance, a cheery wintry tune can be heard softly playing.

Features, or lack of

Though it is an interesting game with a unique take on the Christmas theme which we have not seen before, this fairy-tale-themed title is not brimming with features for the player to use. However, the impressive special symbols do improve the winning potentials and help you to form even more winning combinations.

The Scatter is the only one of the symbols which will pay out from any position and if you land 3, 4 or 5 anywhere on the reels, you will be rewarded with prizes of 2x, 25x and 250 times the stake respectively!
The Wild symbol, Snegurochka herself, has the special power to become expanded, and this will see her taking up all four rows of the reel. She can substitute for all other symbols bar the scatter and on top of all of this, if you land 5 wilds in a combination, you will be rewarded with 100 times the stake immediately!

We cannot deny we are a little disappointed at the fact that there is not really any other features, as this could have really upped the potential for this slot and changed it from a fun little slot with a decent potential to an impressive win-filled game for the hardcore with incredible prospects.

Concluding Snegurochka

While we love the theme and design, we do not love the lack of features. It’s a hard one to decide. On the one hand, you could win up to $1,000,000 every time you spin the reels which is insane and have a stunning theme which has not been done before. On the other hand, there is a below average RTP and no features.
We like it, but maybe just as a one-off play, or a beginners slot. There is a decent return, but high-balling players may decide to go elsewhere where there is features to boost the wins further.
