Overview of Dragons and Magic slot
Dragons and Magic is the newest release from the developers at Stakelogic and whilst it is rare to come across good dragons apart from the famous Puff the Magic Dragon! This slot however is a great mixture of magic and dragons! This competent fantasy filled slot delivers a solid gaming experience. The slot takes full advantage of the winged beasts that may at first look terrifying but is what produces the best parts of the game thanks to their eyes, eggs, and fireballs.
The Super stakes feature are needed to unlock the Mystical Dragon and Dragon Fireball features and the free spins that can expand to provides 7,776 ways to win.
Once you have launched Dragons and Magic you will enter a mist covered forest which is brought to life with the animated flames, leaves and other shimmering things of nature. This 5-reel, 243 way slot is presented to the highest standard and whilst it may lack the While the presentation is high quality, it lacks the wow factor that is usual for any previous fantasy styled slots from Stakelogic. It would be fair to say that the slot is a little laid back this is until the bonus game kicks in.
Bets & Wins
Dragons and Magic features the Super Stake option which is trademarked to Stakelogic and therefore only used for their slots. It is the optional extra features that increase your stake whilst offering various modifiers which are unique to this slot and no other. When you have no modifiers activated the bet range starts from just 20p per spin up to a maximum of £100 per spin, although when the Super Stake is in play the bets then double making each spin from 40p per spin to a maximum of £200 per spin. With this bet range Dragons and Magic is sure to appeal to a wide range of players.
If you choose to take advantage of the Super Stake you get entry to both the Dragon Fireball feature and the Mystical Dragon feature both of which are explained further down the page. The statistics attached to this slot is an average return to player of 96.01% and although this slot is classified as high in the volatility stakes which works along with the decent potential plus a bonus game that sees the grid expand and the potential go absolutely bananas!
The symbols have all been crafted for this slot and are original and what you might expect. The lower paying symbols are depicted by four bottles (blue, red, green, and yellow) which are filled with a potion, these bottles will smash open and create fiery patterns when you land a win. When it comes to the higher paying symbols there is a pig’s trotter or it could be a rabbit’s foot, a magician, a jewel encrusted ring and a dragon with glowing eyes. You only need to land two of the cute dragons to seal a win while landing five in a row will award 20x your stake.
There are two Dragon eye wilds one is the standard whilst the other is the multiplier. Both wilds can land anywhere on your screen to substitute for any of the regular symbols, but the multiplier will also step in to multiply the wins by x2, x5 or x10. The wilds appear when the dragon winks at you and this is how you know whether it is the multiplier wild or not. So landing five wilds will pay you 20x your stake and if you have more than one multiplier in play these combine and the values are all added together.
The Super Stake feature from Stakelogic varies from one slot to another. In this slot it provides players with two benefits the first one is the Mystical Dragon Eye feature which is activated at random and changes symbols into wilds or multiplier wilds.
The second feature that is activated at random is the Dragon Fireball feature, and this throws a bunch of fireballs on random positions on the reels, turning the symbols that land into matching symbols. The Mystical Dragon Eye feature and the Dragon Fireball feature both trigger once in every 32 spins.
The scatter is the golden fiery dragon egg and you need to keep your eye on this as when you land 3, 4, or 5 in view and you will be rewarded with 10, 20 or 50 free spins respectively. During the free spins feature a new symbol which pops up in the guise of coloured dragon eggs on your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th reels. When you only land one of the eggs in view it grows in height of the respective reel by one up to a maximum of six. If you have two or three in view, they increase the reels as well as transforming the symbols on one or two reels into wilds.
The scatters will stay on your reels during the free spins and when you land another it increases the reel by one to a maximum of six. This also means that you will be rewarded with another 10, 20 or 50 more free spins when you land another 3, 4, or 5 scatters and if you are lucky enough to max out the reels you will have the total of 7,776 way to win in play.
Finally, there is the gamble feature and, in this slot, and you can double or quadruple your winnings for guessing the right card suit or colour.
Stakelogic appear to have the inspiration to make any game possible even when it is not apparent and sounds as though it will not work. There is a huge similarity between this slot and the Dragon Maiden from Play ‘n’ Go share the theme and expanding reels feature. Whether they are that similar is your choice but for me I can see the circle of inspiration rolling on and on.
This is a decent slot that stands well on its own merits and although there are a few cons there are plenty of pros that make up for this and more. The free spins can unlock big winnings if you manage to unlock them and there are the stunning visuals that add the final flourish.
Overall, I really enjoyed playing Dragons and Magic it is a great slot and exceptionally well made and executed. This is a highly entertaining game and if you are a fan of the fantasy genre you will really enjoy this slot but give it a spin, I do not think you will be disappointed.
