Runner Runner Megaways is certainly for the more energetic of players, at least this is what the developers at Stakelogic appear to be targeting, however the physical slot simulator approach does in fact suggest that there should also be a modicum of staying seated! In the same vein as the slot’s predecessors and has been influenced heavily by Stakelogic’s fruit slot Super Wild Megaways. It would be fair to say that this slot is reminiscent of the classic 80s film Twins and it is obvious that a lot of contributions from the film have been used in the slot creation.
As mentioned above this slot made me feel as though I was in a crowded room in front of a slot machine in a casino, this is all apart from the sound which is strange and most definitely an acquired taste which will have you either bopping along or hitting the mute button to shut it up!

When it comes to the symbols there are almost identical to those used in Stakelogic’s Super Wild Megaways. If you are not au fait you can expect to see from top to bottom, there are cherries, oranges, plums, pears, bells, strawberries, grapes, watermelons, and sevens. The star symbol is a new addition to the symbols, and this will pay out 60x your stake for landing six. There is a wild in the slot however this is used in conjunction with the Super Stake feature as discussed below.

Bonus Features

It is a given that most fruit style slots are known for being rather basic and when it comes to features this is not the most generous Megaways slot. It is not too bad though as you will have the opportunity to activate cascades, free spins, Super Stake, and a gamble feature.
When you land a winning combination in the base or bonus game you will trigger the cascade feature and this plays out by removing the winning symbols to allow the new symbols to fall down into the spaces and possibly create new win combinations, the cascades continue until there is no new wins formed.
During the free spins feature which you can activate by landing four or more scatters anywhere on your reels will reward you with 8 free spins and then 5 additional spins for any extra scatters that are in view. Whilst playing the free spin feature a win multiplier can also come into play this starts at x1 and increases by +1 every time you activate a cascade, the free spins can also be reactivated to continue the feature.

The scatters have a helping hand from the Hold feature which when in the base game if you activate three or more scatters the Hold feature is triggered it can also come into play if you land tow of more scatter in the free spins feature. Your reels that house the scatters are held whilst the other reels are subject to a re-spin and these re-spins keep in play until you land no new scatters.
Currently the Super Stake feature appears in most Stakelogic games, and this adds extra winning ways if you double your stake. If you decide to use this in this slot, the wild BAR symbols will be added to your reels.
The final feature comes in the form of a gamble feature. The gamble feature plays out as a coin toss where you can try to double your winnings up to five times or 250x your base bet.

Final Thoughts

Whilst I enjoyed playing Runner Runner Megaways there are a lot of slots that feel like other games currently available. Fortunately, there is a huge following for fruit slots so the developers should not be worried about an audience. In other Megaways games the Super Stake option has had a much larger part in the game play, however in this slot you are paying double for some wild symbols, this seems a little extravagant to me.

When you add up all the elements this slot has to offer it pans out as a decent slot which is sure to appeal highly to players that are fans of the physical online slot vibe. I am happy to report that I landed several wins when I trialled the slot and enjoyed the game play, I would rate this slot at 7/10 and this would have been higher if there were more unique elements. This upgraded slot should keep both new and returning players satisfied as it is a solid game that provides opportunities to win and will certainly keep you amused when you fancy whiling away an hour or two.
