The Creative Journey of Gamburger Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold POWER COMBO™
The world of online slots and fresh gaming content moves fast, and few understand the behind-the-scenes dynamics as well as those who work closely with development studios. That’s why our conversation turns to Daniel Cass, Business Development Manager Studios at Games Global, to explore the ideas, challenges, and innovations driving the next generation of games.
It’s great to have you join us Daniel, can you start by introducing our audience to both yourself, and to Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold POWER COMBO™.
Thank you for having me! I’ve been working at Games Global, with the Mahi studio, for a year and a half now as a Business Development Manager.
Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold POWER COMBO™ was a no-brainer for us. One of our best-performing festive releases of all time was the original Fishin’ Christmas Pots of Gold™, and with the incredible success of Fishin’ Triple Pots of Gold™ earlier this year, we saw a perfect opportunity to blend the two. The new Christmas edition captures everything players loved about both titles, while building on the powerful Triple Pots engine with a festive twist that feels fresh, warm, and fun for the season.
Can you explain the key features and mechanics included in Fishin’ Triple Christmas Pots of Gold POWER COMBO™, and how the Power Combo™ feature enhances the overall gameplay experience?
Absolutely! The game includes four tiers of cash symbol prizes and four jackpot prizes that can appear directly on the reels. Whenever Flynn, our cheerful protagonist, lands on the reels, he instantly reels in all visible cash and jackpot prizes. During the Free Spins feature, multiple Flynn symbols can appear at once, meaning players can collect everything on the screen several times over, which really amps up the excitement.
The Power Combo™ feature takes this further by allowing different bonus mechanics to interact in new ways, creating a dynamic and layered experience. Players can activate multiple bonus features simultaneously, which keeps gameplay engaging. It’s one of those features that truly showcases how our studios are pushing beyond traditional bonus rounds to deliver something that feels modern, rewarding, and full of energy.
Fishin’ Triple Pots of Gold™, the first game in this series, released earlier this summer. What inspired you to create a festive sequel based on that title?”
As I mentioned, Fishin’ Christmas Pots of Gold™ was one of our most popular festive titles, and it continues to perform really well every holiday season. When Fishin’ Triple Pots of Gold™ launched earlier this year with a brand-new engine and upgraded gameplay, we saw the perfect opportunity to bring those two successes together – the festive spirit players love and the enhanced features that made Triple such a hit. We thought, why not combine the best of both worlds? It just made perfect sense to create something special for the holidays that captures both.
Developing a Christmas version went far beyond simply giving the game a seasonal makeover. Our aim was to deliver something that feels instantly familiar to players, yet brings a renewed sense of excitement and celebration. It’s a game that embraces everything players already enjoy about the series, now elevated with extra sparkle, festive flair, and that unmistakable holiday magic.
What challenges come with developing a seasonal slot like this Christmas-themed one, would you say it’s hard to keep things fresh year after year?
That’s a great question. While we’ve become quite experienced at creating festive games, there’s always a creative challenge in making sure each one feels distinct and relevant. You can’t just rely on snow and baubles and call it a Christmas slot – there needs to be thoughtful integration between the theme and the game’s core mechanics.
For us, it’s all about balance. We need to make sure the festive visuals and music enhance the experience without overshadowing what players love about the gameplay itself. We also look for ways to surprise players – whether through new animations, enhanced features, or small storytelling touches. So while the overall process runs smoothly thanks to our experience, the bar we set for ourselves gets higher with every holiday release.
If you could pick any other slot from your portfolio to turn into a Christmas slot, which one would it be and why?
That’s an easy one-I’d have to go with the original Gold Blitz™. The engine is incredibly strong, and the core mechanics still resonate deeply with players today. It remains one of the most popular titles among players because it’s fast-paced, rewarding, and easy to understand while still offering big excitement potential.
A Christmas-themed version of Gold Blitz™ would allow us to take that tried-and-true framework and give it a warm, festive glow-up. Imagine those golden lightning bolts replaced by twinkling lights, or festive multipliers falling like snowflakes – it would be a perfect fit for the season. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll make it happen!
Can you give our readers a sneak peek at some of the new online slots being released by Gameburger Studios in 2026?
While I can’t reveal too much, I can say that 2026 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for Gameburger Studios. Flynn – the much-loved character from the Fishin’ Pots of Gold™ series – will continue to be a key figure in our future plans. We’ve got some fantastic ideas for where to take his adventures next, and players can expect even more innovation around the Power Combo™ mechanic.
Beyond that, Gameburger is continuing to expand its portfolio with titles that combine beautiful design, immersive storytelling, and thrilling win potential. 2026 will be a year of bold creativity and player-focused innovation – and we can’t wait to show everyone what’s coming next!
