Blinged is the third slot in the Play ‘n’ Go series which started with Pimped and was then followed up by That’s Rich. According to the dictionary description, Bling is the term given to gaudy and over the top jewellery which is supposed to give off the air of success however it would have to be understated rather than overstated. Whatever your thoughts and preferences this slot uses jewellery as its central theme.

If you have not played any of the previous slots in this series the names are a bit of a giveaway however do not be fooled as this series, Pimped in particular has proved to be very popular with a variety of players. Whilst That’s Rich was successful it did lack the lustre shown in Pimped and I am glad to say that the developers are certainly bringing things around again with this offering that shares a similar theme to Pimped and the same time of features and game play. Design & Theme

Visually this slot has returned to the style of Pimped although the G-dogs have been replaced with a wonderful set of G-dogettes. The slot plays out over 5 reels and 10 fixed pay lines and is set downtown in front of a building that is reminiscent of the New York Chrysler Building on an empty street. You can really image this crew, filled to the brim on champagne cruising on 5th Avenue hanging from the sunroof of their limo whilst passers- by stare in bewilderment.

Game Play

The first thing that you need to do is set your bet which can be a minimum of 10p per spin up to £100 per spin, with this bet range the slot will appeal to many different groups of players. The slot can be played on all devices meaning players have the freedom to play wherever they are. The default return to player has been lowered and sits at 96.25% whilst the volatility has also tumbled slightly to fit in the medium category that the developers have rated as 6/10.

Symbols

When it comes to the symbols you may already have an idea of what you can find, the low paying symbols are the usual playing card symbols 10 through to Ace and these are diamond encrusted and framed in gold. The high paying symbols are depicted by bank notes, gold rings, gold shoes, three young ladies and finally a lady wearing a hat. Landing five of these higher paying symbols on any pay line will pay out 25x – 75x your stake. The wild is a lady that resembles Rihanna and will reward you with 100x you stake for landing five on any one of your pay lines, the wild can also substitute for all of the other symbols to create winning combination with the exception of the scatter.

Features

If you have played Pimped, and the chances are you will have as it is thought of as a classic, you will also be aware of the features and know how they play out and in all fairness very little has changed, although there have been changes to the way things look.
The scatters will appear on your 1st, 3rd and 5th reels and the scatter is depicted by a huge diamond that any lady would love to own. If you land three scatters the 5-win spins feature begins, and you will be rewarded with a win or activate re-spins, and this continues until you have landed a win. Each of these re-spins will increase the win multiplier by +1 and when you land a win from a re-spin the multipliers carry over onto the next win spin and the feature can be extended as well. When you land a scatter on a win spin it adds another win spin to the amount you have remaining up to a maximum of 20 spins.

There is a great twist in this slot and this is that if you land the two scatter tease you will be rewarded with one win spin whereas in the other games in this series you would have missed out altogether hence the tease part of the name. The same game rules apply to the one-off win spins as to the five as explained above.

The only other difference regarding the features is that there is no longer a gamble instead you win something, and you get to keep it rather than trying to go large and at times failing miserably! This may or may not be a biggie to you, however some players may feel as though they have been short changed.

Final Thoughts

If you were to look at the screenshots and read the pay table there is a good chance you may think that Blinged is really just a copy of Pimped with female instead of male stars, and whilst at the heart of the slots they may appear the same there are enough changes to make you realise that they are in fact rather different. The differences which I think make this slot unique are the re-spins that have attached win multipliers and the way you can remove the pay lines both of which can lead to good results. The two scatters provide you with a consolatory win spin rather than nothing as before. The absence of the gamble feature has stopped this slot from being the same as Pimped, this coupled with the lower potential and math model and this is quite unusual as developers usually increase the math model when offering a new addition to a series.

I think the best way to sum up Blinged is that it is a slot that has been created to attract a different type of player and for me it seems to lean towards a female audience. I enjoyed playing this slot and have no qualms recommending it to all players.
