Fortune Rangers is a brilliant new slot from NetEnt
Introduction Money Train 2 slot
Towards the end of 2019, there was the original Money Train, which was a massive hit for Relax Gaming. While the base was nothing short of average where the slot industry is concerned, it was the bonus game that packed a punch and sent this game into orbit with the greatest games there have been. It didn’t take the developers too long to find a way to capitalise on the enthusiasm that the first one brought by releasing a sequel. Money Train 2 is this new sequel and has rectified critics that the company garnered from their initial Money Train – cranking up every other aspect for an even bigger thrill ride! Set out as a 5-reel slot, there are 40 pay lines for the player to sink their teeth into. There are a plethora of features and symbols for the player to enjoy as they spin the reels of this rickety old train.
The betting for the slot is smaller than we are used to seeing, starting at 20p, and increasing to a maximum of £20. So, this isn’t really something a high roller would be happy to see, however, the impressive 50,000 times the stake is a saving grace, meaning you can win between £10,000 and £1,000,000 in a single spin! Something that might appeal to those looking for bigger wins!
The RTP is set above average at 96.4% but skyrockets to 98% when using the feature buy! The volatility is exceedingly high and due to this, the hit rate is just below one in five, sitting at 19.55%.
Symbols and Design
The theme has received an upgrade from the original, and while still focused on the Wild West, it is a more futuristic vibe with the game area still shown as a rickety contraptions complete with gears, ducts, and pipes – a desert wind could blow it over. The entire thing is in keeping with the steampunk vibes, but it is nice to see that Relax Gaming has brought a new feel to the sequel. The soundtrack adds atmosphere to the abandoned town scenery. Moving to the symbols, the lower paying symbols consist of clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades – all of which are designed in metal to keep with the theme. Higher paying symbols are the same from the original, only updated to the new futuristic feel.
These higher symbols include a gun-wielding woman, an emerald sniper, a debt collector, and a necromancer, which is the best paying of the symbols giving 20 times the stake for five symbols on a line. The wild is shown as a skull with pipes protruding from it – this can substitute for all other symbols to create additional wins and will pay out 20 times the stake for five on a line by itself.
If you have ever played Money Train, then this one is remarkably similar features-wise. However, there is a fresh bonus to bring to the table!
First, the biggest gamechanger, the Respins feature. This is triggered by two scatters landing on the reels – these will reveal win multipliers. These will then add together before the respin. If there is no win, then the respin happens again, the multiplier increasing by +1. This continues until a win and then the resulting win has the multiplier applied to. This feature helps to spice up the base game which critics had said was boring in the original.
Three or more scatters will trigger the Money Cart Bonus Round, where day turns to night and another new train rolls around, holding only special symbols. This bonus awards three spins with sticky scatters. The scatter values are added to produce a win multiplier that is applied to the total win. Each new symbol that lands during the Money Cart Bonuses resets the spins to the maximum of 3. Its value also gets added to the win multiplier. In addition to adding multipliers and resetting the spins, some symbols have modifiers attached.
The Bonus symbol gives a value of 1x to 10x. The golden bonus offers a value from 20x to 200x!
The collector will collect all the visible symbol values and add them to its value. The payer will pay out its own value to all visible symbols. These will work in conjunction when landing together. There is also the persistent collector who collects all values and adds them to its value each spin, as well as the persistent payer who adds its value to all other icons on every spin.
The snipe will double the value of between 3 and 8 symbols, while the persistent sniper will double the value of 3 to 8 icons on every spin.
There is also the necromancer who will bring back 1 to 6 symbols that have already been used in the spins, as well as the reset plus which will boost the number of starting spins.
As you can see there are so many symbols it is hard to keep track of them all in the beginning but as you can see, they all add to the win potential of the feature.
If you do not want to wait for it to swing around naturally, the Money Cart Bonus can be bought using the bonus buy option. This often means spending 100 times you stake to trigger the feature automatically on the next spin.
This slot has given us mixed emotions if we’re honest. On the one hand, we adore the new respins as they add a little pop to the base game. This feature happens just enough to keep the base game interesting and not cause us to get bored. An improvement on the glaring problem from the original game. The new 50,000 times the stake potential is also a brilliant addition to the slot.
Realistically, the slot has a less appealing atmosphere than the original but makes up for this in the bigger pay out and better base play.
