Theme & Design

The game screen sits amidst what I think is a forest with leaves and plenty of greenery which complements the purple donned by the hero. The other characters are also well designed and overall, all the elements work beautifully together.

Game Play

When it comes to the game player the slot plays out over 5-reels, 3-rows and 25 fixed pay lines, as the pay lines are fixed it means that they are always all in play. The return to player stands at 95% which is a little disappointing particularly as the average in the industry is 96% and upwards. The hit ratio stands at 34.98% which is not too bad, and the slot has a volatility that has been rated as 3/5 so middle of the road.

Once you load the game the screen is self-explanatory however it is always worth having a look about just to get a feel for things. Down the left hand side of the game screen are various buttons such as the volume where you can turn things up, down or mute if you find that it is getting a little tedious to listen too. There is also a question mark which will assist if you have any issues. Across the bottom of your game screen you will find four rectangular boxes that display the number of lines (not sure why as they are fixed), your balance, your total bet and your total wins, and in the bottom right-hand corner you will find a large blue button which is how you set your reels a spinning!

Symbols

The symbols used in the slot are really well designed and expertly executed and it will not take you long to recognise all the famous characters from the cartoon including Diana as well as the Phantoms closest friends the Wolf and the Horse. I have to be honest it was at this point that I became excited as I realised the big win potential that could be on offer and that this slot has the potential to push you right to the edge and back.

Amongst the symbols you can expect to see there is Diana Palmer who is the wife of the Phantom, the horse is the games wild, the wolf, aka Devil is the free spin scatter, and there is then a ring complete with skeleton head, a pistol and the usual playing card royals. The symbols have managed to portray the cartoon style that fans of the Phantom will know and love.

Features

There are three superb features that are on offer and will captivate even those new to the cartoon as they not only provide incredible prizes, but they are also complete with great expectation. The horse is called Hero and is the wild and when he appears with the Phantom on the reels he will appear as a stacked wild and can feature across all the reels.

Devil the Phantom’s trained wolf also appears in the features as he is the free spin scatter symbol. You will need to land three or more symbols and the wolf unleashes his vocal howl as you are rewarded with five free spins. Your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, reels can also merge to create a massive 3x3 symbol and your chances of winning at this point have been substantially increased. You can reactivate the free spin feature by landing another three or more wolf symbols however this will only provide you with an additional three free spins but there is no limit to the amount of time you can do this.

The Skull Money Re-spins are phenomenal as each of the symbols has a monetary prize value. To activate this feature, you must land six or more skull symbols across your reels, and you will be reward with three re-spins. Every time the skull appears you are rewarded with three more re-spins. This bonus feature ends when you have used all your re-spins and your wins are totalled or if you have 15 matching Skull symbols and then you have hit the jackpot.

Although some players would not think of demo play as a feature, however, for me being able to get the feel of the slot without risking any of my own money I consider this as one of the most important features and urge all players to make full use of this prior to starting to play with real money. Yes, it is disappointing if you land a virtual jackpot in free play as you cannot take the money but at least you will be au fait with the game mechanics, putting you in a far better position when you do play for real.
