Introducing Cash Compass slot from Hacksaw Gaming
Cash Compass is the new slot released from Hacksaw Gaming with a new addition to their Pocketz series of slots. For this addition they have plumped for a grid format in this cutesy game known as Cash Compass. This slot has been designed with those who play online slots and casino games using their mobile phone. All Pocketz slots are aesthetically simple and the focus has scrapped the flashy gaming effects and focuses solely on fun. If you have played any of the Pocketz then you will know straight away that Cash Compass is one and the same, and this applies to everything such as the quirks, looks and game play stand testament to this.
Design & Theme
This slot has a lot more personality than any of the previous slots in the series and it is also the one with the most graphics although this does mean a lot. This slot is not big when it comes to graphics or upfront action. In fact, it would be fair to say that this is a laid back, low key game and Cash Compass is a perfect example that confirms this.
The 6x6 grid is situated in the sunniest of places along by the Caribbean Sea on a desert island where you really are the sole occupant. The only things that you will come across are palm trees, pure white sand, crystal blue sea, sunshine and an abundance of parrots which creates an idea location for spinning your reels.
Before you can begin the game you need to choose your bet and this starts from a minimum of 20p per spin up to a maximum of £100 per spin and due to the wide bet range this is a slot that will appeal to all types of players. This is a medium variance rated slot that offers a solid return to player of 96.42%. With each spin you will see 36 symbols fall onto your grid. The aim is for you to land clusters that are created by six or more of the same symbols, which connect horizontally or vertically to create a winning combination. When you land the win, you may expect a cascade style feature, but the developers decided against this and instead it is full steam ahead for your next spin.
When it comes to the symbol you can expect to come across a mishmash of islands and non-island related symbols. The lower payers are the usually playing card symbols Jack through to Ace, these are then followed with shields, maps, potion bottles and parrots. The maximum cluster size that you can land is 15+ and for this you will be paid out from 10x to 130x your stake. The most valuable symbol is the compass, and this will reward you with 1,000x your stake when you land a cluster of 30 or more. Due to the way this slot plays it is quite possible to build significant numbers of compasses in your winning clusters.
Unfortunately or fortunately depending on the way you look at things it is not all lazing around in the sun on the beach waiting for the symbols to form, there are three features that you need to keep your eyes open for, these being the compass feature, the free spins and the Bonus wheel.
The compass feature is available in the main game and free spins, and if you land five or more of the compass symbols in view in the base game and you will see the compass on the logo begin to spin. When it comes to rest, the compass symbols that are on your grid multiply and spread towards the direction the needle is pointing to. Any regular wins you have are paid out before this feature is activated.
If you get lucky and land three or more scatter symbols in view, you will immediately be rewarded with 10 free spins. In the free spin mode, there are extra compass symbols added and when you land one the compass feature is then activated.
In this slot chests mean treasure, to unlock the bonus game, you need to land three chest symbols. This feature is made up of a spinning bonus wheel which is divided into eight pieces, every time the wheel lands on a section, the multiplier which is on display is added to your total and the multiplier increases to the next level. There is a maximum of 50 wheel spins up for grabs but if you land on a section of a skull the bonus game is over.
The multipliers on the Bonus Wheel start at 1x and increases in the following way, 10x, 25x, 100x and 250x therefore a feature worth landing.
I enjoyed playing Cash Compass from Hacksaw Gaming, as it is a great deal of fun and whilst it may appear lightweight on first inspection particularly if you are not au fait with the Pocketz series. But this should not put you off as this is a good slot that has a flow which makes it hard to put down once you start playing, plus there is a serious amount of potential on offer. Probably a lot more than you would ever expect.
Due to the easy game play and atmosphere that surrounds this slot, Cash Compass fits perfectly into this series of slots. The developers at Hacksaw have created a solid range of slots that all do exactly what they say, this being supplying straightforward games that let players unwind when they get home from a hard day or on their way to work at the start of the day.
This slot would be perfect for lovers of Candy Crush styled apps but want an edge and chance to gain real rewards, and the rewards are most certainly up for grabs in this slot. To date Cash Compass is the highest paying slot in the Pocketz series with a pay out of 7,400x your stake and this is made possible thanks to the elusive Bonus game where you can stack the multipliers.
Cash Compass does move away from the minimalist roots this series is best known for but provided the developers stick with their easy, simplistic nature this will not be an issue. For me this slot would rate at a high 9/10 as although basic it is a great deal of fun but be warned it can take a little time to get used to.
