Trillionaire is the latest release from NetEnt and follows on from the announcement made at the ICE conference at the end of last year where the company spoke of how they would bring fashion TV together with iGaming. This slot is the final slot in their trio that includes Street Fighter 11 and Gordon Ramsey’s Hells Kitchen. Trillionaire will have you thinking what you should wear as is the perfect choice for all things fashion. The FashionTV channel attracts an audience of over 2 million therefore this slot is bound to appeal to a massive audience.
Although NetEnt made the announcement for reasons unbeknown they handed the project to their sibling studio Red Tiger who ended up taking over the concept and brought it to fruition. So, if you are ready to don your designer outfit read on.
Theme and Symbols
The name Trillionaire conjures up thoughts of glamour and opulence and this is where the slot will not disappoint. The 5-reels and 20 pay line grid sparkles and is surrounded by gold trim and bathed in pure diamond decadence. There is a house track that can be heard in the background which breaks into the song “I want to be a Trillionaire” at certain points in the game and although it is a track that is played on the FashionTV channel it is not a mainstream hit. The slot has a quality that divides or separates players, and you will either love it or loathe it.
The developers have put a lot of effort into creating symbols that fit with the theme of the slot the first of which are the high paying symbols and represented five models adorned in fashionable dresses that show off varying degrees of leg and cleavage. When it comes to the other symbols’ accessories are what can be found, with the low paying symbols which are the usual playing card suits that have cleverly been shaped from diamonds and these four symbols will reward you with 0.8x to 1x your stake when you land five of a kind.
Returning to the high paying model symbols these are 1x4 in size and will land either fully or partially in view and landing five will reward you with 3.5x to 7.5x your stake, however if you land a full screen of the model in the gorgeous black dress and your award will be 150x your stake. When the ladies cover a whole reel, they turn wild and can then substitute for all the paying symbols to create winning combinations. There is also the chance for the reels to randomly nudge a supermodel that is partially visible until she is in full view. The wilds not only have the power to substitute for other symbols they will also reward you with 200x your bet for landing a full screen.
The slot plays out on 5-reels and 20 pay lines and is a high volatility game with the developers giving it a hit rate of 2/5. The default return to players stands at 95.75% and could see the more hardcore players feeling rather deflated. When it comes to placing your bet there is a wide range that will appeal to a wide audience of players and starts from just 10p per spin up to a maximum of £100 per spin.
When it comes to the features on offer to get the most out of this game you need to activate either the free spins or the Fashion Wheel. If you land three or more scatters on your reels you will be rewarded with 8 free spins. In the free spins the lower paying symbols are removed, and you need to choose your favourite supermodel symbols and if you find your chosen supermodel only appears partially, they will always be nudged so that they can then be seen completely.
The Fashion Wheel is activated when you land the wheel symbols on your 1st, 3rd, and 5th reels. The wheel is made up of four coordinated circles that either holds arrows or bet multipliers. When you spin the wheel if you land on the first circle you will be rewarded with wins of 5x your bet or an arrow to move you onto the second circle. Landing on the second circle will reward you with wins of 10x – 30x or an arrow that will take you to the third circle. The third circle provides rewards of wins from 50x – 100x or an arrow that takes you to the final fourth circle where the Mega Win of 1,000x your bet will be awarded.
Trillionaire is a slot that you will either get or you won’t. It is easy to imagine the fashion-conscious setting Trillionaire to spin whilst FashionTV plays along in the background, which is cool for all the followers of fashion, but other players may find the slot hollow.
I am not sure why NetEnt handed this over gaming concept over to their partner at Red Tiger, but it is commendable the way they have managed to capture the true essence of the FashionTV channel, but dependent on the players view this can come across as hot or terrible! They have interspersed the “I want to be a Trillionaire” song cleverly rather than allowing it to become repetitive.
When I tested the slot, I did find the slot lacking a little in potential and there is no one who would turn down the opportunity to become a Trillionaire however the most they can expect from this slot is to win a thousand which although not to be sniffed at but to become a trillionaire you would need to land the Mega Win a billion times and realistically I cannot see that happening.
If beauty, style, and fashion are your thing, you will be in heaven with the eye candy and the fact that you can walk away with some wins. The developers have done an excellent job regarding the theme and audio and the entire fashion thing that is going on. I would rate the slot as a 6.5/10.
