The look of Blood Lust is reasonably like the previous release Crusader, although not in subject it is when it comes to atmosphere and graphical style. The statistics on both slots come in with a return to player that stands at 96%, and a hit rate of approximately 23.5%.

Game Play

The first that you need to do is select your bet range which ranges from 20p per spin up to a maximum of £100 per spin which will make the slot appeal to a wide range of players. Once you have determined this it is time for you to take a step into the dark, ancient world where Dracula once reigned complete with dark lightning, withered trees and the castle with a spire as the backdrop. The slot is beautifully crafted, and the soundtrack adds a certain something to the overall proceedings. The slot plays out over 5-reels, 4-rows and a massive 99 pay lines and the aim is to create wins by landing three or more matching symbols from left to right.

Symbols

The low paying symbols in this slot are depicted by the beautifully jewelled playing card suits clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. These symbols are vibrant and glow bright. When it comes to the higher paying symbols there is a gold coloured vampire who actually looks more like a startled teenage boy, however this is none other than Dracula himself and if you are lucky enough to land five on one of your pay lines and will reward you with 40x your bet. Dracula is then followed by two lady symbols and a green coloured vampire.

There is a gold wild that will help you to create wins and can substitute for all the regular symbols to create winning combinations and the wild also has the same value as Dracula paying 40x your bet. There are two other symbols that complete the pay table and these assists to bring the features back from the dead.

Features

There are three features that are on offer in this slot, with the first special symbol being the boosted re-spin symbol, which can only appear on your fifth reel. All you need to do is land one of the candles covered symbols to activate the feature. Once activated one symbol is randomly chosen and stays in place whilst the other reels spin. If you have any bonus symbols these will also remain in place and as so the chances of you triggering the bonus game or landing higher wins are subsequently better.

The next feature is the boosted stacks and here every reel contains stacks of identical symbols and at the start of each spin symbols are chosen at random to fill the stacks. This feature can work out well however you should be aware that the different reels can all have different symbols on the boosted stacks of symbols.

Finally there is the free spins bonus which is activated by landing three or more of the scattered symbols and if you are lucky to have them land on the reels and create a rectangular zone and every tile in this zone providing you with an additional free spin. When playing the free spins, the three lower premium symbols will show up above the reels and there is a meter for them. When these symbols land on the reels they begin to fill up the meter and once the meter is full, they will provide additional free spins which are subsequently turned into Dracula for the rest of the feature. The bonus round can work out well particularly as the scatters can retrigger the free spins limitlessly.

Conclusion

This is another slot where vampire is the main character and considered hot and the ladies fall for their enigmatic charms. When it comes to style there is a high standard and the artwork has been executed expertly. The soundtrack makes this a totally immersive environment for you to enjoy the game. The features will provide you with plenty of win opportunities and can also re-activate the free spins, however there is a cap on the amount that you can win.

Unfortunately there are two key areas where this slot lets itself down, the first is with regards to the potential which is capped at 2,500x your bet which actually seems to be constant in all games from ELK Studios, but this is not going to put off the hardened fans. The second problem is whilst the re-spins and symbol transformations are good, there are very similar to ones used in previous slots and as so there is very little to get excited about.

Personally, Blood Lust is a middle of the road slot and although it has several positive elements the slot is rather shallow. Probably the best way I can describe this slot is it will not have a life span to rival that of Dracula.
