Overview Betty, Boris And Boo slot

Betty, Boris, and Boo is the latest slot to come from the developers at Red Tiger Gaming and takes on all things ghostly! I dare say that you would prefer not to see ghosts walking through your walls or making an entrance on your staircase! There are those who believe ghosts have unfinished business, however it could just be that they are having some fun from beyond the grave. Whatever it is that motivates them, one place where they presence is a positive one is when they feature in gaming slots. This is because when they do show they are normally accompanied by a modifier or feature, and this is most definitely the case in Betty, Boris, and Boo.

Theme & Symbols

When it comes to the theme this game is not dark in fact there is nothing sinister, instead the slot takes place within a room that is lit by candlelight, and there is one thing that could make you think that the room is haunted and this is because of the three ghosts that are hanging on the wall to the left of the room, There is a curved staircase that will take players to the next level which is swathed in a cold blue light but there is still not a lot to scare you, even when the ghosts finally show up!

The symbols start with the skull ‘n’ coins symbol which is the highest paying regular symbol and will pay you 8x your stake for landing five on a row, better still it rewards you for landing just two. The other symbols that make up the higher paying symbols are an old-style rotary phone, a book, a mirror, and a candle, and if you manage to land full lines the reward will be 3x to 6x your bet. The low value symbols are four different shapes coloured green, gold, purple and red. The only other symbol to cover apart from the scatter is a gorgeous blue diamond which is the wild. The wild can substitute for all the other symbols to create winning combinations and they are also worth up to 10x the bet when you land five of a kind.

Game Play

Named after three helpful residents from the other side, Betty, Boris, and Boo is played using a 5x4 grid using 30 fixed pay lines. The first thing that you need to do is to decide on the bet that you are most comfortable playing with. The bets start from just 10p per spin up to £20 per spin but there is something rather sinister lurking in the background and this is the highly volatile math model, and the default return to player stands at 95.69% and reasonable potential which we will look at below.

Although this slot has plenty of features there are none in the base game and you just must make do with the line wins which are created when you land three or more of the same symbols from the first reel on the left.

Features

As stated above, the base game surprisingly has no features as so there is nothing in the main game to boost the regular wins or take away your attention. For this you will need to activate the free spins feature where the three ghosts will really show their worth in the game.

When you land three Spooky Spins symbols on your 1st, 3rd, and 5th reels will reward you with 10 free Spooky Spins. The slot does lend a helping hand to some extent and if you land at least one but less than three scatters whatever is in view is locked in for the next spin providing you with the additional chance to activate the feature. In Spooky Spins, the three ghosts are active, and they all have their own Spooky feature, which appear totally at random, and it is possible for all three to turn up on one spin!

If Betty is active, she will turn the regular symbols into sticky wilds that remain locked in place throughout the entire feature. Boris who is reminiscent of Slimer the character from Ghostbusters will expand a random high paying symbol into either a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 size, there is also a chance for Boris to reappear in the feature to create various combinations. Finally, there is Boo who applies a multiplier to any wins for the duration of the Spooky Spins feature, Boo can appear more than once and can increase the multiplier by up to 10x.

Conclusion

Betty, Boris, and Boo are some great characters, and they provide great entertainment value in this easy-going ghost slot. The slot provides easy visuals, great features and is not what you would consider to be a demanding slot. Although it is a bit of a surprise that the slot offers no extras in the base game and this does mean that the main game may drag a little and when I tested the slot it did take a little while for the first bonus to activate, and I did find I had to make a concerted effort to stick at it and see how it would pan out.

However, it is not all doom and gloom after the first bonus the free spins were far easier to activate which certainly made me more enthusiastic. The free spins were totally random which meant some bore no modifiers in the base game and others were a total ghost fest with all three characters making an appearance on a single spin and at best there wins of up to 5,241x your stake.

There is no doubt that Betty, Boris, and Boo can be fun, and there are some great rewards on offer. There are times in the free spins where the action can peak, and the results are good too. This is a ghost slot that is not as creepy as it may first sound and you will be fine playing in the dark as there is no chance that you will be leaping out of your skin with every creak of your staircase!!
